FAQ

Do we need to provide you and your second shooter a meal?

We would truly appreciate being fed!!  It is a long day for all involved and being fed would give us the stamina and cheerfulness to keep on shooting :)  We are usually fed the same time as the bride and groom and would prefer to sit in the same room as all the guests (it could be at a guests table, vendor table or a table hidden in a corner), whatever is convenient for you.  It is very important that we see and hear what is happening at all times so we can photograph those moments (ie/ speeches).  We cannot do so if we are outside the room.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

You bet!!  Normally engagement sessions are schedule Monday through Thursday because my weekends are filled with photographing weddings.  Each engagement session is about 1-1.5 hours.

I would like to book you … now what??

Awesome! I am so honored that you would like me to capture your special day.  I require a signed wedding contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer to secure your date. As soon as those are received you are marked in the calendar and the excitement begins.

How far in advance should we book?

ASAP!! I book weddings a year to a year and a half in advance.  There are the occasional last minute bookings, but I encourage people to not take that chance!

What do you need from us on the day of our wedding?

Not much - I really try to encourage my clients to pretend we’re not there.  It is such a special day, we want you to enjoy it and have fun.  We love shooting all those real moments, tears and laughter that make your wedding so special.  I try not to interfere because you lose the moment if someone is there trying to directing you.

Do you travel for destination weddings?

I love traveling for destination weddings!! Packages are determined by the location and how far I need to travel. Please contact the studio for a custom quote.

Why do we need a second shooter / assistant?

I like having a second shooter on hand to get different angles and perspectives throughout the day. They are also responsible for grabbing my bags and any gear so my whole focus is always on the bride and groom. A second shooter is also very handy at chasing down stray family members for the portrait session as well as holding lights, and taking care of other important tasks that may come up.

How many images can we expect to receive?

That depends on how many hours I was at the wedding ... typically between 500-900 color corrected images.

How long after the wedding until we receive our USB?

After the wedding it takes a great deal of time to edit and process those images...especially in the middle of my busy season.  I want to make sure all the photos selected tell the whole story of your day. It typically takes 6-10 weeks for you to see the galleries.

What is your wedding style?

I like to shoot a mixture of photojournalism and creative portraiture, which means I focus on candids for natural photos.  I will follow you around capturing your day as it unfolds blending into the background.  I love getting real moments, smiles and tears.  I also like to gently guide couples & their wedding parties during the formals for some creative shots.  I enjoy being different and plan on having tons of fun with plenty of laughter.
